Members of the ING user community were invited to submit Letters of Intent for (non-survey) Science Verification (SV) projects. The aim of this workshop was to introduce the PIs and their teams who had been invited to submit full proposals based on their Letters of Intent to WEAVE's capabilities, the data-reduction and analysis pipelines and the data archive, and to help the them prepare their final SV proposals for submission by 15 December 2019, as well as the eventual preparation of observations for successful proposals.
14-15 November 2019; IAC, La Laguna, Tenerife.
Final programme:
The workshop took place over two days, with the first day allowing for remote, online participation.
Thursday morning provided participants with a gentle introduction to WEAVE and its capabilities, with further focus on the following topics:
Thursday afternoon focused more on the output from SV, with topics covered including the following:
On Friday, those who were at the workshop in person were provided with a comprehensive overview of various material that PIs/Co-Is will come across during Phase 2 (everything that comes after Phase 1, i.e. proposal submission, that must be prepared by the the PI teams).
Participants were:
Discussions took place on many topics (and in different locations), with the programme allowing for a lot of interactions over the course of the two days.
All slides from presentations given during the SV workshop are provided below. Small changes have been made in some cases to provide consistent information (e.g. regarding the first-light date) across all presentations. Any inconsistencies or issues with clarity should be communicated to Shoko (jin@astro.rug.nl).
If you have any questions about the slides provided from the workshop, please contact Shoko (jin@astro.rug.nl).
The organisers and speakers of the workshop would be very grateful if you could spend a couple of minutes filling out this feedback questionnaire:

Some questions are only applicable to those who attended one or both days of the workshop, but others are more general. Your responses will therefore be much appreciated, regardless of whether you attended the workshop (in person or remotely) or not.
Thank you in advance for your feedback!
